Robert Williamson Grady, 96, died Saturday, September 04, 2010 at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh, New York. He was born in Pittsfield, Mass, July 17, 1914 the son of Carlton F. and Jennie (Cushing) Grady. He grew up in Watervliet and graduated from Watervliet High School. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in France. After the war, he went to work for the New York State Department of Transportation. Among other assignments, he was instrumental in acquiring property for the construction of Interstate 87, the Northway. He was a member of Gilead Lutheran Church in Center Brunswick. He married Alice Joslin in June 1941. After military service, they lived in Haynersville, outside of Troy. She died in 1985. He is survived by a brother, Edward C. Grady and his wife, Gertrude of Willsboro and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by another brother, George C. Grady, in 1997 and George's wife, Helen, in 2009. There will be no calling hours. Services will be at the family's convenience. Following cremation, burial in Eagle Mills Cemetery.
