Robert G. LaFountain, 80, of Plattsburgh, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019 at the Clinton County Nursing Home with family by his side.
He was born in Beekmantown on April 30, 1939, the son of the late Richard and Helen LaFountain.
He served in the U.S. Army and later was employed by Bay View Dairy. He later was employed by Oneida Chemical and also owned and operated his own landscaping business for many years. He enjoyed boxing and loved animals especially cats.
He is survived by his children; Robert LaFountain Jr., Kenneth James LaFountain and David A. (Gail) LaFountain, all of Plattsburgh, his companion Rita Bell of Plattsburgh, his siblings; Richard LaFountain of Arizona, Diane Agnew of Plattsburgh, Patsy Robinson of Plattsburgh, a granddaughter Meagan, a step daughter Tami Wood ,his step granddaughters Khloe and Zoe Hutchins of Plattsburgh, and several nieces and nephews.
His wife Audrey LaFountain and a brother Hubert “Charles” LaFountain passed away earlier.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
