Plattsburgh Mr. Robert E. LaPier, 76, of Waterhouse Street, Plattsburgh, New York passed away, Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Fanny Allen Rehabilitation Center in Burlington, Vermont. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on April 6, 1934 the son of Frank J. and Rose A. (Tebo) LaPierre. Robert was a veteran of Korea serving in the U. S. Air Force. He was a Maintenance Mechanic at Clinton Correctional Facility at Dannemora retiring in 1981. Robert enjoyed fishing, reading, spending winters in Florida and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #125, the American Legion Post #20 and Our Lady of Victory Church. Robert was predeceased by his parents Frank and Rose LaPierre, a son Patrick LaPier, a granddaughter Sara Beth LaPier and three brothers; Francis, Lawrence and Donald LaPier. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia (Peavler) LaPier of Plattsburgh, four sons; Robert K. LaPier and his wife Ellyn of Plattsburgh, David LaPier and his wife Clare of Plattsburgh, Timothy LaPier and his wife Monica of Virginia, Thomas LaPier and his fiance Emily Winslow of Queensbury, two daughters; Cynthia O'Neil and her husband Dennis of Plattsburgh, Karen Durocher of Plattsburgh, a sister Gladys Wade and her husband William of Peru, a son-in-law Gregory Durocher of Plattsburgh, a daughter-in-law Debra LaPier of South Glens Falls, 18 grandchildren; Robert, Steven, Phillip, Rebecca, Katelyn, Barry, Carissa, Rosie, Camille, Christie, Beth, Shannon, Bridget, Adam, Nicole, Jessica and Kara, 4 great grandchildren; Ryan, Rowan, Lily and Logan, several nieces and nephews and a special friend Todd Baker. Calling hours will be Friday, April 16, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Victory Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. Friends wishing may make donations to Paralyzed Veterans or Adirondack Humane Society. Members of the American Legion Post # 20 are asked to meet Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home for services.
