Robert "Bob" Morgan

West Chazy Mr. Robert E. "Bob" Morgan, 81, of Route 22 in West Chazy, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with family by his side. He was born in Raymondville, N.Y. on March 9, 1932, the son of the late Clyde and Ruby (Matson) Morgan. Bob served in the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant during the Korean Conflict and later worked as an engineer for the Harris Corporation in Champlain and later for Kimpex. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of Knights of Columbus Council 3525 in Champlain, and the American Legion Post in Champlain. During the 60's, he was active in Champlain Village government on the Board of Trustees and served as Mayor. About ten years ago, Bob and Jamie Basiliere worked together to build the Champlain Childrens Learning Center that serves the needs of children from crib to sixth grade . He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anne (Tebo) Morgan whom he married on December 28, 1953 at St. Andrews Church in Norwood, his children and their spouses; Thomas and Denise Morgan, Michael and Kim Morgan, Beth Morgan and husband Joe Bartenstein, Daniel and Penny Morgan, his siblings and their spouses; Wayne Morgan, Carol and Harold Gardner, David and Judy Morgan, Dorothy and James Kersey, Richard and Deb Morgan, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews including a special nephew; Daren and Bev Morgan. His parents, and a daughter Maria Morgan passed away earlier. In accordance with Bob's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday, October 18, 2013 at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. A reception will follow at St. Joseph's Parish Center. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Norwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to the Champlain Childrens Learning Center, 10 Clinton St., Rouses Point, N.Y. 12979 or to Hospice of the North Country, 358 Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh, N.Y. 12901.
