Robert S Mullady

Robert S. “Steve” Mullady, 94, of Plattsburgh and formerly of Dannemora, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020 with his family by his side, under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Dannemora, NY on June 23, 1926, the son of Stephen and Lena (Mitchell) Mullady.
Steve lived a life of service: he served his country, joining the United States Navy in 1943 where he was a Gunners Mate on the USS Daniel T. Griffin. Following his honorable discharge in 1946, he continued his service in the Naval Reserves until he enlisted in the Air Force in 1955 until he was again honorably discharged in 1969. In 1981 he enlisted in the United States Army where he served 4 more years. He joined the Dannemora Fire Department in 1948 where he was a lifelong member, serving as Chief from 1959-1984. He was a true outdoorsman, holding the position of Secretary for the Siberian Rod and Gun Club and as Secretary and Treasurer for the Clinton Country Federation of Fish & Game Clubs. Robert retired as a Corrections Officers from Clinton Correctional after 41 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Jean.
He is survived by his children and their spouses; Tina Higdon of Tucson, AZ., Kris and Judy Mullady of Dannemora, his grandchildren; Jonathan and Jenine Flynn of Fulton, NY, Tracey Higdon of Tucson, AZ, Emily Higdon of Tucson, AZ, Joelle Arnold of Tucson, AZ, Jacob Mullady and his companion Mikailah Donah of Dannemora, NY and Zachary Mullady and his companion Morgan Rugar of Williston, VT.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 4:00-7:00pm. Funeral services will follow in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be Friday, October 2, 2020 at 10:00am in Independence cemetery in Saranac with Military Honors presented.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of North Country or the Dannemora Fire Department.
