Robert A "Bob" Rock

Robert A. Rock "Bob", 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the UVM-CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, on January 30, 1929, the son of Alfred and Kathyrn (Keenan) Rock. Bob was an avid sports fan, listening and watching all sports. Bob loved to be outdoors; fishing in his early years, and enjoyed walks through the woods. He found solitude maintaining the home he, his wife, and son-in-law, David, built in retirement and caring for the landscape. He was a family man at heart, caring for his children and grandchildren. He fulfilled a dream of his in the spring of 2017, attending the North Country Honor Flight with his fellow veterans accompanied by his son, Kevin. He is predeceased by his son, Kyle Rock, and a son-in-law, David Solotky. Robert is survived by his wife Janice, his children; Kathy Solotky, Carol Premore and her husband David, Kevin Rock and his wife Diane, Kris Rock-Dougherty and her husband Joe, 8 grandchilden, and 2 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The North Country Honor Flight. Calling hours will be Sunday, February 4, 2018 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Alexander's Church. Burial will be at a later date in the parish cemetery.
