Robert E Stocum

Plattsburgh Mr. Robert E. "Bob" Stocum, 73, of Salmon River Rd, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015 at UVM Health Network CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Bath, NY November 9, 1941, the son of the late Harold M. and Iris (Stone) Stocum. Bob joined the United States Air Force after completing high school. He worked at Imperial Paper Mill for several years before he attended Zion Bible College and became a Pastor. Bob was an avid Mets fan, always cheering for his team. He married his first wife, Joyce in 1961 where he was happily married until her death in 1997. He then met Catherine Cook and they were married in April of 2008. He is survived by his wife, his two sons; David Stocum and his wife Maryann of Lincoln, CA, Shawn Stocum and his wife Lisa of Plattsburgh, NY, a step daughter Kelly Bell her husband Francis of Plattsburgh, NY, two granddaughters; Chasity and her husband Brian Franco of Simpsonville, SC, and Brandi Stocum of Plattsburgh, NY, his stepgrandson Aaron Bell of Plattsburgh NY, two great-grandchildren, Cayden Franco and Callie Franco, his brothers; Gerry Stocum of Palm Meadow, FL, and James Stocum of Orlando, FL. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 3:00pm to 6:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral ceremony will be celebrated on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11:00 am at the First Assembly of God. Burial will be at a later date in Riverside Cemetery.
