Robert J ""Bob"" Tyrell

West Chazy Mr. Robert J. "Bob" Tyrell, 74, of the Seymour Road, West Chazy, New York passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with his family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh on June 13, 1937, the son of James W. and Marion (Farber) Tyrell. Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Clinton Correctional Facility as a Sergeant in 1985 after 25 years of service. He also retired in 1997 after 21 years as a rural mail carrier. Robert enjoyed woodworking and playing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet (Baker) Tyrell whom he married September 19, 1959 at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy, two sons and a daughter in law; Scott and Kim Tyrell of West Chazy, Jeffrey Tyrell and companion Tina Bates of Beekmantown, four daughters and three sons in law; Kathleen Mauer of Elizabeth, New Jersey, Cynthia and Russell Reed of Florida, Pamela and Shane Brink of Champlain, Tricia and Stephen Harris of Altona, four brothers and three sisters in law; Paul and Rochelle Tyrell, Dennis and Kate Tyrell, William Tyrell, all of Schenectady, New York, Richard and Bethany Tyrell of Johnson City, New York, a half sister and brother in law; Susan and Andrew Powell of Pennsylvania, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents James and Marion Tyrell, a son Timothy James Tyrell and a brother James Tyrell. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William G. Reamer officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Ingraham cemetery.
