Roberta J Sousis

Keeseville Mrs. Roberta J. Sousis, 70, of Keeseville, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 at her home under the care of Hospice of the North Country with her family by her side. She was born in Keene Valley, NY on August 14, 1945, the daughter of the late Clarence and Gladys (Cross) Nolette. As a teenager she worked at Meadowmount School of Music in Westport, NY. She got married on June 27 1964 in Reber, NY. She worked at Betty's Cleaners for several years, was a supervisor at Grover Knitting Mills for 9 years, worked at Burrell's Orchard for 6 years, and Forrence Orchard for 23 years until she retired in 2012. She is survived by her daughter Annette J. Sousis & her wonderful grandson, friend and caregiver, Joshua E. Ploof both of Keeseville. A granddaughter Julie A. Carter, her fiancé Adam M. Rock and their son, Damien M. Rock who is Roberta's first great grandchild, whom she absolutely adored, all of Peru, NY. A sister Polly A. Joy, and A brother Alvin B. Nolette. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Edward J. Sousis, her son Brian E. Sousis, a brother Russell H. Nolette and a sister Sandra L. Estes. Roberta was an avid NASCAR and country music fan. She enjoyed sewing, working outdoors in her garden, spending time with her family, and most recently traveling to the ocean, the Grand Ole Opry and Graceland with her daughter and grandson. Donations may be made in her memory to Camp TA-KUM-TA in Vermont. In accordance with Roberta's wishes, there will be no calling hours.
