Roland E Devins

Plattsburgh Mr. Roland E. Devins, 84, of the Arnold Road, Plattsburgh, NY passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the UVMHN-CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on February 17, 1931 the son of John and Alfreda (Cutler) Devins. Roland served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by City of Plattsburgh Public Works Department and later delivering flowers for Country Expression. Roland enjoyed mowing the lawn, going out for dinner, telling jokes, and scratching lottery tickets. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Roland married the former Suzanne M. Wheaton on November 22, 1968. She preceded him in death on March 26, 2005. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his parents, his brothers; Melburn Devins and Gerald Devins, his sisters Sondra Reeves and Shirley Rock. Roland is survived by his children; Terry Head and her fiancé Jamie Aubin of West Chazy, NY, Daniel Devins and his wife Catherine of Plattsburgh, Barbara Devins and her fiancé Pat Chambers of Plattsburgh, his grandchildren; Hayden, Dalton, Dakota, Karlie, Madeline, Payton, Codie, Nicholas, Corwin and Regin, a great grandson Carrson, several nieces and nephews also survive him. Calling hours will be Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be held Monday, August 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, Keeseville. Friends wishing may make donations to Meals on Wheels.
