Roland E Dumas

Mr. Roland E. Dumas, 92, of Tom Miller Road in Plattsburgh, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility with family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh on March 3, 1923, the son of the late Edward and Stella (Brault) Dumas. Roland was employed at Pal Blade, N.Y. Albany Dispatch and later as a truck driver for over 39 years for Dorn's Transportation and Oneida Trucking. He was a member of St. Peter's Church, a life member of Knights of Columbus Council 255 and Elks Lodge 621, and retired Teamsters Local 648. Roland was one of the original founding members of Teamsters Local 648 with his brother-in-law Vic Mousseau. He enjoyed woodworking and volunteered extensively at St. Peter's Church and School. He is survived by his wife Marie (Mousseau) Dumas whom he married in 1945, a son and daughter in law; Roland and Julie Dumas of Plattsburgh, a brother and two sisters in law; Richard and Linda Dumas of West Chazy, Rose Mischler of Schuyler Falls, a sister-in-law; Margaret Dumas of Plattsburgh a sister-in-law Donna Mousseau of Albany, his grandchildren; Jonathon Dumas and his wife Jennifer, there children, Ian, Ava, Ella, Kerri Emhoff and her husband Rich and their children; Emma Sardinski, Charlotte and James Emhoff, Karen Dumas all of PA. He was predeceased by his brothers Alfred, Earl, Gerald, and Floyd Dumas and a sister Marjorie Dumas. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday July 15, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday July 16, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
