Plattsburgh Roland T. Jean, 85 of Fort Brown Drive, Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Thursday December 3, 2009 at his home under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Falls River, MA on November 8, 1924 the son of Leon and Lumina (Dion) Jean. Roland served his country during World War II as a Merchant Marine. After the war he joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 501 in Connecticut. After retiring from the union he received his Real Estate License and began working for Century 21 Real Estate and Rowe and Rascoe. He was predeceased by his parents, a son Richard Jean and several brothers and sisters. Roland is survived by his wife of 38 years Claudette Jean, two daughters; Brigitte Phillips of Plattsburgh, Joyce Gagne of RI, two sons; Raymond Jean of RI and Edmond Jean of CT. 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, a brother Paul Jean his wife Dorothy of MA, two sisters; Lorranie Fortin and her husband Romeo of MA and Josephine Kreutzer of CA. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. Calling Hours will be held on Monday December 7, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
