Ronald K Jackstadt

Ronald K. Jackstadt, 79, of Route 3, Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Saturday May 9, 2015 at UVHN:CVPH in Plattsburgh, NY. He was born in Plattsburgh on October 13, 1935 the son of Karl and Lillian (Maynard) Jackstadt. Ron graduated from Mount Assumption Institute and worked for his father at Jack's CALSO on Route 9 South in Plattsburgh. He then began working for the New York State Dept. of Correction, retiring as a Sergeant in 1994 from Altona Correctional after 30 years of service. Ron and Carol wintered in Florida where they made many new friends and enjoyed camping with their "Bounder" families. He was an avid golfer, bowler and New York Giants fan. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Venice Howard and a brother-in-law Bobby Howard. Ron is survived by his wife of 58 years Carol (Ducatte) Jackstadt, four children; Timothy Jackstadt and his wife Pam of Clifton Park, NY, Thomas Jackstadt and his wife Louise of Morrisonville, Terrance Jackstadt and his wife Kathy of Syracuse and Fern Jackstadt of Plattsburgh, 11 grandchildren; Michael, Jessica, Sarah, Joshua, Jonathon, Jacqueline, Alicia, Tiffany, Jessica, Matthew and Nicholas, several great grandchildren, his sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws; Elsie Clase, Marion and Norman Bergeron, John and Cheryl Ducatte, Jim and Karen Ducatte and several nieces and nephews also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Thursday May 14, 2015 from 10:00 to 12:00 pm at the First Assembly of God Church on Prospect Avenue in Plattsburgh, a funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday May 14, 2015 at St. Alexander's Cemetery in Morrisonville. Donations in Ronald's memory may be made to the First Assembly of God Church.
