Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant Ronald Joseph Jubert, 70 passed away peacefully in his home
on July 31st, 2022. Ron, fondly known as “Gunny” was a decorated veteran who actively served
his country for almost 20 years. He loved his Country and his Corps.
Ron was born on December 28th, 1951 in Plattsburgh, NY to, Virgil and Joy Jubert. Ron was a
mischievous boy who grew up on the family farm. He told many hilarious stories that usually
ended with him getting a butt whooping. When he was just 17 years old, he decided to join the
Marine Corps.
After enlistment Gunny spent time abroad and fell in love with the cultures he was immersed in,
most notably while in the Philippines and Japan. While in Japan, he joined Karate classes,
advanced to black belt, and became an instructor. Gunny brought that passion home with him
and shared it with his family.
Ron married his high school sweetheart and together they would have two children, but his best
buddy in the whole world was his dog, Shadow. She was his comfort and his joy.
When Ron wasn’t working, he had a passion for woodwork and painting. He was a talented
artist and a certified Bob Ross painting instructor. He taught classes at his local arts and crafts
store and also in his home.
Ron was predeceased by his parents, Virgil and Joy Jubert, his sister Melody Eichler and her
husband John Eichler. Ron is survived by his son, Christopher Jubert and his wife Melody,
daughter Nicole Beck, grandson Frederick Beck, his sister Holly Castine and husband Rick,
and many beloved nieces and nephews.
