Ronald Snow Sherman, 83, of Plattsburgh, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility following a long battle with Alzheimers.
He was born in Fort Edward, NY on March 12, 1936, the son of Richard B. and Charlotte Ruggles Sherman. He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Sandra Parrow Sherman, and his children, Richard Sherman, David Sherman, Karin Mulligan and her spouse, Tim Mulligan, Kristine Sherman and her spouse, Michael Romeo. He was grandfather to five that included Elizabeth, Catherine, and Mary Clare Sherman, Karlie Neale, and Matthew Romeo.
Ronald graduated from Colgate University in 1958. He retired from the Social Security Administration after 30 dedicated years. Being committed to public service, he chose to serve as a board member for the Senior Citizen Council of Clinton County after retirement. Ronald enjoyed bowling, Red Sox baseball, laughter, music, crossword puzzles, and watching his granddaughter, Karlie, play softball. However is most cherished pastime, after family, was his love of books and reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Richard and John Sherman.
There will be no public calling hours. Services will be private at a later date in Glens Falls Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be offered at the Plattsburgh Public Library in his name.
