ROSA C. REYES Ms. Rosa C. Reyes, 85 passed away quietly into the arms of her Lord on Thursday morning, June 16, 2011, at the CVPH Medical Center. She was a former resident at Pine Harbour (three years) and also a former resident at the Samuel F. Vilas Home (four years). She was born on January 2, 1926 on the beautiful U.S. territory island of Guam the daughter of Juan Garrido and Isabella (Valenzuela) Cruz. Rosa had been a long-time Eucharistic Minister of St. Augustine's church (Peru, NY) as well a Lay Minister. She was an avid sports fan and one of her true passions was playing the piano for her resident friends and staff at Pine Harbour. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, daughter, Barbara and her "favorite" son-in-law, John Hebert of Morrisonville, NY, son, John and Sharman Reyes (Monterey, CA) and son, Vince and Sharon Reyes (San Diego, CA), her grandchildren, Chad, Amanda, Sandy, Ryan, Kayleigh Rose and Lanaia, her three great grandchildren, Isabella, Ariana and Braden. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Juan S.A. Reyes who also passed away in the month of June 1999. She was the sole surviving Aunt on her family side and has several special nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 5pm-7pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated, at 11am, Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh with the Rev. William G. Reamer as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Augustine's cemetery in Peru. In lieu of flowers, Masses may be said in her memory. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
