Roy L Ero

October 17, 1948 — July 23, 2020

Roy L. Ero, 71, of Schuyler Falls, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020, at the CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born in Peru, N.Y., on Oct. 17, 1948, the son of Rolla and Alice (Blair) Ero.
Roy proudly served his country in the United States Army and participated in the Vietnam War. He received several commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal and two Bronze Service Stars. He was given his Honorable Discharge on April 1, 1970, with a rank of SP4.
Roy traveled the North Country for many years, first as a delivery driver for Montgomery Ward department store, and then as a bulk mail delivery driver for the U.S.P.S.
He enjoyed his summer Saturday evenings at Airborne Speedway with his brother Donald, watching the action and visiting with friends.
He was a selfless man that would consider his greatest achievement his love for his family. He adored his wife and daughter and was the greatest grandfather that ever lived. A day never went by when he wasn't thinking how he could make his family's day brighter. He will be sorely missed.
