Roy Lynch

Roy Lynch, 63, of Newell Avenue, Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Saturday August 22, 2020 at his home with his family by his side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on November 23, 1956, the son of Robert and Anita (Filion) Lynch.
Roy graduated from Massena Central School in 1974. He began working for the NYSDOC in 1984 at various prisons, later retiring is 2016 from Clinton Correctional Facility as a Lieutenant. He enjoyed fishing, animals, playing cards, music and played guitar, but especially spending time with his family.
Roy was predeceased by his parents; and his in-laws; Clinton and Elizabeth (Greeno) Drowne.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia Lynch, they were married on June 1, 1985 at Our Lady of Victory Church. His son Nathan Lynch of Plattsburgh, his siblings; Patricia (John) Barraclough, Thomas (Tina) Lynch, Nancy (Gary) Edwards, Richard (Lynn) Lynch and Sue (Roy) Ehmke, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Michael Drowne, Danny (Brenda) Drowne and Sharon (Chuck) Sparrow, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive him.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday August 25, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday August 26, 2020 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh. Inurnment will follow at St. Peter’s Columbarium in Plattsburgh.
Donations in Roy’s memory may be made to Cabrini Shrine in Peru, NY, Hospice of the North Country, North Country Cancer Fund, Elmore SPCA.
Roy’s family wishes to thank Dr. Todd Witman and staff at the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center and Dr. Zbigniew Wolczynski for the kindness they have shown to Patty and Roy over this very long journey. The family wishes to also thank; Sharon Sparrow for the incredible care she provided, Roy’s friends and neighbors on Newell Avenue, The Hughes Family and Jeremy, Shannon and Olivia Drowne, all made a difference in Roy’s life. Don’t forget “porch time” from 2:00 to 6:00.
