Roy B. Magee, 84, of West Chazy passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Jackson, NY on November 22, 1935 the son of Fremont Roy and Adeline Mina (Carlton) Magee. Roy graduated from Rutland High School and was the Vermont State Champion for the one mile his senior year. He served in the U. S. Army Airborne 101st Division from March 7, 1956 to March 6, 1958 and then the Army Reserves until being honorably discharged on June 6, 1962. Roy received his Electrical Engineering Degree from University of Vermont and he retired from Imperial Wall Covering as an electrical engineer. He owned and operated Magee Christmas Tree Farm. Roy enjoyed coaching hockey, white water canoe racing, working his tree farm, reading and spending time with family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Roy is survived by his wife of sixty years Marilyn Magee, his children; Michael (Robin) Magee, Diana (Alan) Aguglia, Gary (Gwen) Magee, Daniel Magee, Matt Magee, his siblings; Yvonne Fucci, Susan (John) McNulla, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his canine companion Buttercup.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
