Ruby L Hughes

Ruby L. Hughes, 89, of Miller Street, Plattsburgh, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Meadowbrook Health Care Facility. She was born on November 4, 1929 in Asheville, North Carolina, the daughter of Henry and Arlene (Salters) Koon.
Ruby provided day care for many years. She enjoyed bingo, yard sales and auctions at Bridge Street Auction Service.
She is survived by three children; Gregory Hughes of Plattsburgh, Alexander Hughes and his wife Andrea of Germany and Robin Hughes of Dallas, TX, three grandchildren; Mia-Keiche Hughes Walton, Ruby Hughes, Amy Hughes, four great grandchildren; Damaya Hughes Owens, Christian James Hughes Walton, Ava Marie Wilson, Jeremiah Alexander Wilson, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive her.
She was predeceased by her husband James A. Hughes in 2011 and twelve siblings.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
