Ruby V Skillan

Plattsburgh Mrs. Ruby V. Skillan, 75, of Lake Shore Drive, Cliff Haven passed away Tuesday April 1, 2008 at the CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in North Tonawanda, New York on September 17, 1932 the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Yanni) Muratore. Ruby was raised in Newark, New York and graduated from Newark High School. She was an avid doll collector and shopper. Ruby enjoyed making dolls and giving them to friends and family. She received an Associate Degree from Clinton Community College and worked there as a computer lab specialist and a library assistant. Ruby was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #125 Ladies Auxiliary and St. John's Church. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Josephine Muratore, two brothers; Anthony and Frank Muratore and one sister Mary Rose Galasso. Ruby is survived by her husband of fifty three years, Leonard R. "Len" Skillan of Plattsburgh, three Daughters; Mary Skillan of Plattsburgh, Kathy Duquette and her husband Todd of Peru, Barbara Jennette and her husband Scott of West Chazy, a sister Theresa DeSain of Lyons, New York; five grandchildren; Kristina Moquin and her husband Aaron of Plattsburgh, Joshua Lang of Peru, Nicola Lang of Plattsburgh, Elizabeth Bryar of Plattsburgh and Robert Duquette of Peru, several nieces and nephews also survive her. Calling hours will be Friday April 4, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday April 5, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. from St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. Interment will be at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery.
