Ruth E Allen

Ruth E. Allen, 91, formerly of River St. in Morrisonville, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility. She was born in Morrisonville on August 9, 1927, the daughter of the late Fred and Florence (Gordon) Rock.
Ruth was employed for many years as a collator for the Clinton Press and also for Diamond International for 8 years. She was the last local Gold Star Mother from the Vietnam Era. She enjoyed playing guitar, yodeling, listening and dancing to live country music, playing Canasta and going to the Casino
She is survived by her children and their spouses;; Russell and Suzanne Allen of Morrisonville,. Judy and Joe Arriaga of the Bronx, Kevin and Dorothy Allen of Morrisonville, Calvin and Fay Allen of Mooers, Jill Seney of Morrisonville, a sister; Beverly Carte of Peru, 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by husband Dallas E. Allen in 1983 , two sons Bruce and Travis Allen, four brothers and four sisters, and her companion Al Pearsall.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in St. Alexander’s cemetery in Morrisonville at a later date. Memorial donations may be offered to the North Country Honor Flight or St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
