Plattsburgh Mrs. Ruth M. (Goldie) Moore, 90, of Plattsburgh, NY passed away Monday, June 27th, 2016 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, NY with her loving family by her side. A wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and magazine collector, Ruth "Goldie" Moore, was devoted to God and her family. She was born and raised on a farm in West Beekmantown, NY where she learned the value of hard work and perseverance. Goldie, a bit of a rebel, left farm life for the big city of Plattsburgh where she graduated from Champlain Valley School of Nursing. During her schooling, she met and was tricked into marrying her rascal of a husband, Frances F. Moore, better known as "Bud." Goldie and Bud, a power couple of their day, created a special life together. Goldie went on to become a Patient Care Coordinator at CVPH Medical Center while Bud became a Principal at NCCS. The two raised six children, and during that time, Goldie acquired her taste for the occasional gin and tonic. Goldie was a devout Catholic; looking to God to lead her through the trials and tribulations that life gave her. She prayed daily for the many people she knew both living and deceased. Goldie's cooking could stand with the best of them, and her sticky buns, pies, chocolate chip cookies, and other baked goods will be missed terribly by her grandchildren. Although, this final chapter of her life had left her physically unable to do all the things she wanted to, her friends and family will remember Goldie's love of dancing and walking the along beaches of Maine and the aisles of Bed, Bath and Beyond. Goldie heard the call from God and could not refuse, and while our family is devastated at the loss of our matriarch, we are thinking God needed some help keeping her sons Rob and Gary, her husband Bud, and her grandson Adam in line. Survivors of Goldie's family include Jean Moore of Plattsburgh, Cathy (Tom) Stewart of Brentwood, TN, Mary Anne (Tim) Carter of Plattsburgh, John Moore of Plattsburgh, Lisa (Patrick) Kelleher of Cazenovia, NY, niece Mary Forbes of Plattsburgh, sister Claire (James) Lafferty of Watertown, brother, Clarence Golden of West Chazy, grandchildren Steve Moore, David Moore, Emily Stewart, Lauren Stewart, Kaleen (Jack) Sessler, Kelsey Kelleher, Ean Kelleher, Jenelle Carter and Sarah Carter, great grandchildren Hadley and Harriet Sessler, sisters-in-law Virginia Golden of Plattsburgh and Juanita (James) Baker of Fletcher, NC, several nieces and nephews. At the family's request there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday July 2nd, at 10AM at St John's Church, Plattsburgh. Interment will follow in the family plot at St. Alexander's Cemetery, Morrisonville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John's Church in Plattsburgh or to a charity of choice. "A Very Special Lady is Home. God Bless Goldie." Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St, Plattsburgh, NY 12901. (518)-561-3980.
