Mrs. Ruth V. Nelson, 72, formerly of Park Row, Cadyville, New York and most recently of Club Road, Plattsburgh, New York passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009 at the CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh, New York on November 1, 1936 the daughter of Lawrence W. and Helena A. (Hickok) Drollette. Ruth along with her husband Richard owned and operated Nelson's Flower Shop in Plattsburgh for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, traveling and hugging her grandchildren. Ruth was a member of St. James Church in Cadyville and a member of the Rosary Altar Society of St. James. She was predeceased by her parents Lawrence and Helena Drollette, a brother Richard Lee Drollette and a sister Connie Myers. Ruth is survived by her husband Richard "Dick" Nelson of Plattsburgh. They were married July 14, 1954 at St. Joseph's Church, Dannemora. She is also survived by a son Mark Richard Nelson and his wife Sheila of Latham, New York, three daughters; Daphne Siegel and her husband Donald of Troy, Illinois, Charity Davis and her husband James of St. Charles, Illinois, Lisa Jayne Doyle and her husband Ryan of Goshen, New York, a sister Marjorie Haley of Dannemora, New York, two brothers; Robert Drollette of Saranac, New York, Lionel Drollette and his wife Sandra of West Plattsburgh, New York, eight grandchildren; Carl Siegel, Jimmy, Emily, Ricky, Joseph and Michael Davis, Spencer and Eve Doyle, several nieces and nephews also survive her. Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 23, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 12:00 noon at St. James Church in Cadyville with Msgr. Lawrence Deno, Pastor as celebrant. Interment will follow in the family plot at St. James Cemetery. Friends wishing may make donations in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
