Ruth A Papa

Ruth A. Papa, 89, a resident of Champlain St., Plattsburgh, NY for fifty three years, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at the UVHN-CVPH Medical with her loving family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh, New York on July 13, 1927 the daughter of Clarence and Corrine (Cusprinie) Anderson. Ruth graduated from Poughkeepsie High School and went to work immediately for New York Telephone, later transferring to Plattsburgh. She enjoyed reading, loved watching old movies, sitting outside enjoying nature and she was an avid animal lover. Ruth was a member of St. Peter's Church. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and love of her life Joseph "Ginger" Papa. Ruth is survived by her children; Andrea Papa of Plattsburgh, Marc Papa and his companion Kathleen Maksimow of Plattsburgh, Lisa Papa of Malta, two nieces; Christine Lapham and her husband Michael of Plattsburgh, Kathy Lord of Saranac, a great niece Carrie Carnright of Santa Barbara, CA. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
