Ruth Maryellen Taylor

Ruth Maryellen Taylor, 89, formerly of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Meadowbrook Healthcare with family by her side. She was born in Wilmington on February 9, 1934, the daughter of the late Rev. Albert and Maryellen (Campsell) Babcock. Ruth in later years worked as a glass blower at North Pole, NY and then moved on to run her own shops at Ausable Chasm for many years. She spent many years managing the ski shops at Whiteface Mountain, NY. She enjoyed her summers on Lake Champlain with her husband and family and her winters in Florida. She is survived by her children and their spouses; her daughter Donna Ruth Benson, her son Ricky E. Taylor and his significant other Claudia Broddy, her son William John Taylor and wife Uamduan , her daughter and son in law Patricia and Bernard Liberty , 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Donald E. Taylor in 2017 , and her seven siblings. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 11:00am at the Wilmington Nazarene Church. The family will receive visitors one hour before the services. Interment will follow in the Haselton Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center.
