Samuel Connor, 94, of Park Row in Cadyville, passed away on July 28, 2018 at CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Mossend, Scotland on February 23, 1924, the son of Phillip and Eleanor (Miller) Connor. Samuel moved to Canada in 1929 and served in the Canadian Navy during World War II. He later moved to the U.S. in 1951 and Cadyville in 1953. He worked as a mason for over 60 years. Samuel loved to collect bells and brass items. He also enjoyed hunting, golfing and working in his shop fixing broken things. He was a member of the Cadyville Fire Department for over 50 years, the American Bell Association, Trinity Episcopal Church, and the former Cadyville Civic Association. He is survived by his children and their spouses; Joseph and Vanessa Branch of Baton Rouge, La., William Branch of Redford, Mary Paul of Plattsburgh, 7 grandchildren; Kristi (Tripp), Joey, Connor, Spencer, Seth, Kyle, and Sarah (Cliff), 8 great grandchildren; Sam, Max, Carter, Cloe, Rowan, Greer, Harper, Shea and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Mary Elizabeth "Liz" and his siblings. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 3 Park Row in Cadyville. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Plattsburgh. Entombment will follow at Whispering Maples Mausoleum in Plattsburgh.
