Dannemora Mrs. Sarah M. "Sally" McCasland, 103, formerly of Clark Street, Dannemora, New York passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Clinton County Nursing Home with her family by her side. She was born in Saranac, New York on August 31, 1912 the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Defayette) Archambault. A resident of Dannemora for over seventy three years, Sally was a member of St. Joseph's Church, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Mary Immaculate, the Happy Mountaineers Seniors and the Home Bureau. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, baking, flower gardening and spending time with her family. Sally was predeceased by her husband Victor McCasland, two sons; Wesley and Curtis McCasland, her sisters; Lena Levinius, Eva Fournia and Bernadette Couture , a brother Raymond Archambault. She is survived by her sister; Albina St. Germaine of Peru, a son Robert McCasland of Plattsburgh, two daughters; Virginia "Jenny" Bordeau of West Plattsburgh, Monica Blair and her husband Fred of Saranac, a daughter in law; Gertrude McCasland of Morrisonville, ten grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. At Sally's request there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church Dannemora. Interment will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Joseph's Church Renovation Fund or the Alzheimer Assistant Center at Sibley Hall, Plattsburgh State University College.
