Shawn M. Lafountain

Shawn M. LaFountain, 51, of Plattsburgh NY, passed away on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023 at his home as a result of his battle with aggressive end stage cancer.

Shawn was born on February 7. 1972. The son of Gary Sr., Tanya (Darrah) LaFountain and brother Gary LaFountain Jr. all of by which, he his is predeceased.

Shawn grew up in Plattsburgh and graduated from Plattsburgh high school. From there he went on to study at Clinton community college. He transitioned into the healthcare field, following in his mothers footsteps.

Shawn enjoyed playing softball at the American Legion post 1619. He loved to golf, fish, shoot pool, play horseshoes, and throw darts. He would show everyone up in karaoke any chance he got. Shawn was a diehard Steelers fan, when he wasn’t rooting for the dolphins and loved to watch the Yankees win.

He is survived by his Six children. Kaila (LaFountain) Shaddox and her husband Chris of Nevada, Jacob LaFountain, Abigale LaFountain, Brenyn Loope, all of Plattsburgh along with Jelina Moody of Morrisonville. His Three grandchildren, Brady, Lorelai, Amelia. His aunts, uncles, cousins, and his two lifelong best friends, Dennis Darrah (cousin) and Michael Lawliss all of Plattsburgh and surrounding areas.

No funeral or memorial service will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date.
