Sherman R Baker

Peru Mr. Sherman R. Baker, 60, of Allen Hill Road, Peru, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009 with his family and friends by his side. Sherman has touched many hearts and was loved by those who knew him. Sherman served in the Navy and was a jack of all trades within his lifetime. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling with friends and family as well as spending time with those he loved. Sherman is survived by his true love, Anna McKee of Peru, five brothers, Harold Belanger, Paul Baker, Ronnie Baker, Norman Belanger and Gary Baker, one sister; Katherine "Sis" Chereshniski. Sherman is also survived by eight children; Julie Baker and her companion Dalton Walters, Rosemary and James Bell, Sherman S. Baker, Kelly Millie and companion Dennis Velez, Amy Baker, Jessica Gilmore, Melissa and Mike Habich, Amanda McKee and companion Chad Baker, 10 grandchildren who he was better known to as Papa Sherm; Toni Baker, Shalauna Baker, Illiannah Velez, Austin Baker, Joshua Slade, Jr., Shawn Joiner , Courtney Joiner, Jessica Habich, Kellen Blake and Devin Blake, and many more extended family members. Sherman was predeceased by his parents Hector and Mary Baker, two brothers; Francis "Sonny" (Baker) Belanger and Roger Belanger and a son, Carl Baker. At Sherman's request, there will be no calling hours. Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Friends wishing may offer donations in Sherman's memory to Anna McKee.
