Shirin Darougar

Shirin Darougar, 78, of Morrisonville, NY, entered eternal life on March 31, 2023. She succumbed to a valiant battle with lung fibrosis after beating cancer last year. Shirin will be dearly missed by her daughters Farah and Firouzeh, her grandchildren, Pasha, Sara and Pearl, her sisters, her many nieces and nephews, her maltese dog, Lucky, and her best friend, Beverly.

Shirin was born in Iran and lived in Montreal for many years with her family, before she moved to the North County. She had worked in Lake Placid before starting her own adult care facility in 2004 in Plattsburgh which she successfully ran for many years, providing compassionate care for area residents.

After she retired, she stayed active and enjoyed taking walks with her friends in town and sharing her Persian heritage with others. She cherished the time she spent with her family and catching up on the phone with her loved ones across the world.

Shirin will be forever remembered for vibrant personality and beautiful smile. Her light dimmed but still shines powerfully forever in the hearts of her loved ones. Her mother, father, brother, and many other family members were waiting for her in heaven.
