Shirley Ann (Perras) Abraham, 92, of Plattsburgh, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility. She was the daughter of Joseph and Gladys (Sample) Perras. Born and raised in Plattsburgh, Shirley graduated from St. John's High School and Plattsburgh State College. She married her high school sweetheart, Joe Abraham in 1953, the beginning of an adventure that moved her to South Carolina, Albany, DC, Florida, Chicago, Rochester and New Jersey as she followed Joe’s career and raised their two children. Always interested in fashion, she sold designer apparel at Bloomingdale’s in NJ and upon returning to Plattsburgh in 1980, opened her own clothing store, Shirley’s Casuals. She later worked for the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce. Shirley volunteered as a docent at the SUNY Plattsburgh Rockwell Kent Gallery. She loved going to the beach, listening to music and shopping for shoes. Most of all she loved being with family, especially her children and grandchildren who will miss her dearly. Shirley is survived by her son Dan Abraham (Moira), daughter Sandra Boyle (Stephen), grandchildren Maire Conrad (Zachary), Brigid Hensley (Michael), Brendan Boyle (Priya), great-granchildren Rory, Maeve, Bree, Nolan, Heath, Xavier, sister Lita Bechard and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 70 years, parents, and siblings Eileen, Sue, Ted and Reg Perras. Visitation will be Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 9:30-10:30 am at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at St. John's Church, Plattsburgh. Memorial Donations may be made to the Plattsburgh College Foundation, 101 Broad Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home.
