Shirley M Marquis (Forkey)

Shirley M. Marquis (Forkey) passed away August 7, 2022 surrounded by family after a long illness at Meadowbrook Healthcare. She was born on January 21, 1934 in Plattsburgh, the daughter of Alex and Eva Forkey (Riel). She was predeceased in 2014 by her husband William (Bill) H. Marquis, and 2 brothers; Leon Forkey and Homer Forkey. She was also predeceased by her 5 sisters; Lorraine Forkey, Irene Burns, Mildred Degregory, Yvonne Rabideau, and Evelyn Burnell. She will be greatly missed by her children, Steve Wilson of Plattsburgh, Cheryl Marquis and her spouse Sandy Barnard of Readsboro, VT., and Tina Tremblay and her husband Lyndhurst of West Chazy. She also has 4 grandchildren; Sofia, Naureen, Asim from Karachi, Pakistan and Matthew Marquis of Champaign, Illinois and 4 great grandchildren. She enjoyed being and doing things with her family. She loved her cats... they were her pride and joy. She loved going out to eat and going for a car ride in the afternoon, and watching her favorite shows on TV with Bill. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh.
