Plattsburgh - Shirley G. Hanion, 65, of Hickory Street in Plattsburgh, passed away Monday, April 26, 2010 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Chazy, NY on May 10, 1944 the daughter of John and Hazel (Bushey) Buskey. Shirley worked for many years at Arpak Plastics in Plattsburgh as an assembler. She enjoyed scratch off lottery tickets, spending time with her family and caring for her cats, Pepper and Kitty. Shirley was predeceased by her life long companion Edwin Mackey, a daughter Carol Donah and several sisters and brothers. She is survived by three daughters; Brenda Rivers of Plattsburgh, Marie Mattioli and her husband Jeff of Beekmantown and Ann Hanion and her companion Brian Thurber of Plattsburgh, eleven grandchildren; Chasity, Peter and Alysha Rivers, Paedyn and Zoe Mattioli, Caleb Hanion, Brianna and Abigail Thurber and Tina, Kaylee and Konner Farr and a great granddaughter Phoebe Brunet, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Donations in Shirley's memory maybe made to the Feral Cat Fund, C/O Brown Funeral Home.
