Shirley A Messier

Cadyville Mrs. Shirley A. Messier, 83, of State Route 3, Cadyville, NY passed away Monday, July 16, 2012 at home with family by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Rutland, Vermont on May 22, 1929 the daughter of James and Bertha (Lincoln) Ferguson. Shirley worked at LaBarre's IGA and JC Penny. She volunteered at CVPH Medical Center and was a member of St. James Church, Cadyville. Shirley enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, knitting, watching game shows, word jumbles and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Bertrand "Bert" Messier. Shirley is survived by her daughter Cheryl Herron and her husband Hugh of Cadyville, her son Daniel Messier and his wife Anne of Hope Mills, NC, her grandchildren; Christina Ann Flateau and her husband AJ of Woodsville, NH, Hugh James Herron IV and his wife Stacy of Dannemora, Joshua Victor Bertrand Herron of Cadyville, Danielle Marie Messier Sherouse and her husband Nate of Hope Mills, NC, Anthony Richard Messier of Hope Mills, NC; her great grandchildren Lilidae Jane Flateau, Orion Heron Flateau and Aiden Riley Messier Sherouse. Calling hours will be Friday, July 20, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 3 Park Row, Cadyville, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Church, Cadyville. Entombment will follow at Whispering Maples Mausoleum on the Tom Miller Road.
