Sidney J Vorce

PLATTSBURGH ” Sidney J. Vorce, 71, of Point Au Roche Road, Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Thursday October 30, 2014 at his home with his family by his side under the care of Hospice of North Country. He was born in Plattsburgh on March 8, 1943 the son of Sidney and Mable (McDonald) Vorce. Sidney retired from Georgia Pacific in Plattsburgh. He owned and operated several business in Plattsburgh; J. R. Auto Exchange, Pardners Saloon, J. R. Blacktopping and Trucking and subcontracted his dump trucks to Luck Brothers Construction. Sidney was predeceased by his first wife Nancy Vorce, his step sons; Terry and Wayne LaRock his siblings; James Vorce, Mariel Guynup, Florence Howard, Betty Bassett, Sonja Dayton, Hilda Vorce. He is survived by his wife Harriet Vorce, his children and their spouses, Donna Warner of Plattsburgh, Susan and Kent Faus of Morrisonville, James Vorce and his wife April of Troy, Debra Weigner and her husband Richard of Troy, Cindy Murphy and her husband William of Troy, Ellen Ceremuga and her husband Edward of Troy, Lisa Laplante of Troy, his step children; Michael LaRock and Shelly of FL, Brian LaRock and Melissa of FL, Cindy Vito and her husband Mike of Plattsburgh, Connie Cross and her companion Mark Christiana of Morrisonville, 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Monday November 3, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm to 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday November 4, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
