Silas C Wells

Plattsburgh Mr. Silas C. Wells, 63, of the Wallace Hill Road, Plattsburgh, New York passed away, Saturday, June 12, 2010 at his home. He was born in Plattsburgh, New York on September 25, 1946 the son of Willard and Gladys (LaPierre) Wells. Silas was a veteran of the U. S. Army, 82 Airborne Division serving from 1965 to 1968. He married the former Virginia M. Garrant on May 4, 1968 at St. Joseph's Church in Treadwell Mills. Silas was employed as a machine operator at Georgia Pacific Paper Mill in Plattsburgh and Union Officer of the Local 140 for a number of years. He enjoyed fishing and playing the lottery. Silas was a member of St. Peter's Church. He was predeceased by his parents Willard and Gladys Wells and a brother Freddy Wells. Silas is survived by his wife of forty two years, Virginia M. (Garrant) Wells of Plattburgh, his children William Joseph Wells, Cheri Cahoon and her husband Neil of Plattsburgh, his sisters; Rosalind Giroux and her husband Donald of Farmington, NY, Laura Miller and her husband John of Beekmantown, his brothers; Anthony Wells and his wife Katie of Cleveland, Ohio, George Wells of West Palm Beach, FL, Paul Wells and his wife Kim of West Palm Beach, FL, Russell Wells and his wife Holly of Braser Falls, NY, Diane Baldwin of Peru, his grandchildren; Emily Wells, Hayden Wells, Shandley, Matti Cahoon with several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 15, 2010 at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday June 16, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
