Stanley F. Tomkiewicz, 77, of Morrisonville, died Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the UVM-CVPH Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh on August 25, 1941the son of Frank and Priscilla (Belgard) Tomkiewicz.
Stanley retired from the US Air Force in 1979. While serving in the Air Force he served as security to Henry Kissinger and later served ten years on Air Force One for Nixon, Ford, and Carter. Following his honorable discharge, he returned home and became a Corrections Officer, retiring in 2003. Stanley loved to be active, running, playing racquetball, biking, playing basketball and hiking. He was an avid Fox News viewer. His greatest love was for his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife Patricia, two brothers; Roland and Elijah Tomkiewicz, two sisters; Elsie Ciccone and Eleanor Garrow.
Stanley is survived by his wife Bonnie of Plattsburgh, his children; Lori Tomkiewicz, Trisha LaSalle, Michael Tomkiewicz, Michelle Besaw, Fred Besaw, Michael Besaw, 13 grandchildren, and a great-granchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 11:00-1:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment with full military honors will follow at Whispering Maples Mausoleum, Plattsburgh.
