Stephen J Lombard

Plattsburgh Mr. Stephen J. Lombard, 62, of Wildwood Estate, Plattsburgh, New York passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013 at his home under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Plattsburgh, New York on July 3, 1951 the son of John C. and Janis Marie (Fleury) Lombard. Stephen was a longtime resident of Rouses Point prior to moving to Plattsburgh. He had a long and distinguished career with the U.S. Customs working at the Toronto Airport and the Port of Champlain. Stephen retired in 2006 after 32 years of service. Throughout the years, Stephen was a member of several area choirs and singing groups where he shared his wonderful voice. He enjoyed entertaining at his home, which was greatly enjoyed by those who attended his functions. Stephen may have missed his natural calling of a gourmet chef. He was however, most at home caring for his brother Mark, as well as helping others. Stephen was predeceased by his parents John and Janis Lombard and a brother Mark all whom lived in Rouses Point. He is survived by a brother Dean Lombard and his wife Betsy of Point au Roche and their daughter Dianne of Lackawanna, New York, his great uncles and great aunts; Clayton and Charlene Lombard of Peru, Ronald and Terry Lombard of Clermont, Florida, several cousins and his longtime friends Roger, Donna, Haila and Rod Conant also survive him. At Stephen's request there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, September 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church. Graveside services will be held Monday, September 9, 2013 at the family plot at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Rouses Point. Donations in Stephen's memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country or the Elmore SPCA.
