Steven H. Bezio of Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 20, 1947 in Burlington VT, the son of Stephen and Lois (Whitten) Bezio. After graduating from Burlington High School in 1967 he joined the Navy. After 2 years active duty he spent the remainder of his 20 year career in the Naval Reserves. He worked for 20 years at IBM in various manufacturing positions and met his wife there. He married Barbara Hardesty on June 11, 1983. He and Barbie lived in Essex Junction, VT over 30 years. After Steve’s retirement from IBM he worked at JCPenney, The Medical Store, and finally as a Security Officer at UVM Medical Ctr in Burlington until his health declined. In addition to his wife Barbie of 41 years he is survived by his children Heather and Adam Bezio of Plattsburgh, NY; Melody Brunelle and her husband Jason of Morrisville, VT; and Melissa Roberge and her husband Dan of No. Hero VT; his 6 grandkids Zach, Zaide, Zoe, Jacob, Tyler, and Kayleigh; and his 2 great-grandkids Payton and Jackson. He is also survived by his brothers Dan Bezio and his wife Wanda; and Rick Colman and his wife Catherine; and many other relatives. Steve was predeceased by his parents, his brother John Colman, and his sister Darlene Bezio. Steve loved music and played trumpet in a marching band, taught himself guitar, and sang in a barbershop quartet in the early 1980’s. He was an avid deer hunter and loved roller skating and bowling. He was a member of the Essex Junction Lions Club for many years and served as past president. He loved telling his dad jokes and funny stories. There will be a graveside service with military honors on July 12, 2024 at 10:00am at New Mount Calvary Cemetary on Plattsburg Ave in Burlington, VT.
