Susan Ann Gibson

Plattsburgh Susan Ann Gibson, 68, of Tiffany Way, Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Thursday August 11, 2016 at home with her family by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Malone, NY on August 20, 1947 the daughter of Carl and Kathleen (Premo) Griffith. Susan graduated from Franklin Academy in 1966 and shortly thereafter was married to Peter Hooper of Malone. She worked for J.J. Newberry's in Malone for many years before moving to Plattsburgh to work for Sam's Club where she retired. She was a member of Notre Dame Church in Malone where she taught religious education and loved volunteering at Camp Guggenheim in the summers. Susan was also a diehard Yankees fan who enjoyed bowling, cooking, crafting, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Michael Griffith. Susan is survived by her husband David Gibson who were married on May 24, 1997 at the First Baptist Church in Malone and her four sons; Christopher and (Laurie Devins) Hooper of West Chazy, Timothy (Amy) Hooper of West Chazy, Anthony (Mary) Hooper of Malone, and Peter (Kelly) Hooper of West Chazy, 10 grandchildren (Joshua, Kelsea, Brandon, Melissa, Jennifer, Mac, Jenna, Ryan, Olivia, and Brianna), 3 great grandchildren (Jack, Gavin, and Lexi), her siblings; Kay (Jack) Perry, Cheryl Griffith, Judy Bussey and James (Laurie) Griffith, and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday August 13, 2016 at 11:00 am at Notre Dame Church in Malone with a burial to follow at Morningside Cemetery in Malone. In lieu of flowers donations in Susan's memory may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center at CVPH Medical Center, 75 Beekman Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
