Sylvia T Couture

Sylvia T. Couture, 74, of Cadyville, NY, passed away at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh on December 15, 1947, the daughter of Leon and Theresa (Charland) Brooks.

Sylvia retired from Clinton Correctional Facility after working more than 25 years as a Keyboard Specialist. She enjoyed ceramics and sharing them with others. She enjoyed playing cards and Mahjong with her family and friends. Sylvia liked to go to camp and socialize throughout the summers. She’ll be missed for her kindness and her will to help anyone she met. Her greatest love was for her family, providing for them in every way.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Harold Couture, their children; Kim Tamer and her husband Bobby, Shannan Gillespie and her husband Trevor, Nicole Chase and her companion Joe Rock, April Collins and her husband Joseph, Camron Couture and his companion Danielle Pelkey, Nathan Couture and his wife Stephanie, her grandchildren; Evan Tamer, Adam Tamer, Brandon St.John, Bryan Lacy, Joseph Gillespie, Elora Lacy, Jordan Gillespie, Sylvia Lacy, Ciara Collins, Taryn Collins, Kaitlyn Goodwin, Shawnee Couture, Isaac Couture, and Averie Couture, 14 great-grandchildren, her sisters, Shirley Brooks, Patsy Farrell, and Pam Brooks, sister-in-law Jane Benware, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, her in-laws, Fred and Bernadette Couture, and her brother-in-law, Tom Couture.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 1:00-4:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Cadyville. A funeral service will follow at 4:00pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the HK Freedman Renal Center or the SUNY Plattsburgh Alzheimer’s Disease Caregiver Support Initiative.
