Teresa M. Brawner, 80, of Lake Shore Drive, Plattsburgh, New York passed away Friday May 30, 2008 at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Ausable Forks, New York on April 11, 1928 the daughter of Michael and Rose (Union) George. Teresa attended Indiana University and was employed by Syracuse University prior to a long career with the Social Security Administration. She traveled extensively throughout Asia, Europe, India, Africa, Tibet and the United States. Teresa studied several languages including French and Arabic. She enjoyed cooking, especially Lebanese dishes. Teresa was a member of the Senior Center and St. Peter's Church. She was predeceased by her parents Michael and Rose George and her three brothers; George, James and Paul George and four sisters; Mary Becker, Anne Tabor, Helen Francis and Cary Green. Teresa is survived by a brother Donald C. George of Leola, Pennsylvania, several nieces and nephews including her nephew Don George of Portland, Maine and nieces Mrs. Paul (Celine) Carrier of Bedford, New Hampshire and Mrs. Edward (Kathleen) Warfel of Leola, Pennsylvania. At Teresa's request, her remains were donated to the University of Vermont, College of Medicine. A memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday June 7, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church. At Teresa's request, kindly omit flowers. Donations in her memory may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center.
