Terrance W "Terry" Daniels

Terrance "Terry" W. Daniels, 67, of Cumberland Head in Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Sunday December 18, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on January 9, 1949 the son of Ernest and Alice (Noble) Daniels. Terry grew up in Plattsburgh before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps on January 12, 1966. He was honorably discharged on February 16, 1968 and remained in the reserves until 1972. Terry met the love of his life, Marion Jones in Albany, NY in 1972. They were married on April 11, 1975 and soon after moved to Plattsburgh where Terry started Daniels Signs. Together with his son Jesse, he operated the sign company until retiring in the early 2000's. Terry was a member of the American Legion Post 20 and the V.F.W. Post 1466. He was a member of St. Mary's of the Lake Church and St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. He was a creative artist and produced numerous oil paintings, murals and fiberglass sculptures. His signs were hand painted lettering, a masterful skill practiced for decades. Terry was predeceased by his parents, two brothers-in-law James Vanderhoff and Edward Hunter. He is survived by his wife Marion Daniels; a son Jesse Daniels and wife Maribeth of Plattsburgh; a daughter Jan Wellik and husband Michael of Onalaska, WI; two grandchildren Kennedy and Trey; his sisters Nancy Maguire and husband Paul, Darlene Vanderhoff, and Theresa Wells and husband John; his sister-in-law Betty Jones and brother-in-law, George Jones, plus several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow with full military honors at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Divine Mercy Cemetery on Cumberland Head.
