Thelma Upton

Plattsburgh Thelma Vincent Upton, 91, of Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Friday October 12, 2012 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Lyon Mountain, NY on March 4, 1921 the daughter of Jack and Emma (Terry) Vincent. In 1955 Thelma received the highest rank of Civil Service for Clinton Correctional Facility and in 1962 she graduated with her nursing degree. She belonged to the AARP organization and was a devoted member of St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Thelma was predeceased by her parents, first husband, George Carron, second husband, Kenneth Upton, a daughter, Barbara Welch, eight siblings and a nephew Frank Carron, Jr. She is survived by two son's Frank Carron and his wife Isabella of Dannemora, Robert Upton of Utica, NY; two daughters, Joan Hall and Judith Young of Plattsburgh; eight grandchildren, Barbara Vandyck, Robert Matthews, Michael Matthews, Heidi Hastings, Richard Young, Richard Blockson, Bradley Kiroy and Lisa Marker; sixteen great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. Calling hours will be held on Thursday October 18, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Dannemora, NY. Donations in her memory may be made to the Foundation of CVPH.
