Theodore Alton Shelters

Mr. Theodore Alton "Ted" Shelters, 84, of State Route 374, Cadyville, NY and formerly of Plattsburgh passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the UVHN-CVPH Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born in Lake Placid, NY on April 21, 1931 the son of Lynn Alton and Miriam Elizabeth (Gonyea) Shelters. Ted was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U. S. Army. He was employed by Grand Union for more than forty years. Ted enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Virginia Poissant and three brothers Lynn Howard, Earl and Douglas. Ted is survived by his wife of fifty nine years Lillian (Roushia) Shelters of Cadyville, two sons; Timothy Shelters and his wife Lona of Ellenburg Center, Paul Shelters and his wife Lisa of Morrisonville, three daughters; Pamela Meyers of Plattsburgh, Lorinda Minckler of Cadyville, Jill Shelters of Plattsburgh, nine grandchildren, one great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated privately at St. Peter's Church at the convenience of the family.
