Plattsburgh Mrs. Theresa M. Lavoie, 78, of Maine Road in Plattsburgh, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 at the UVM CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Mooers on February 17, 1938, the daughter of the late Bernard and Adele (Arquette) Menard. Theresa graduated from Mooers Central School and SUNY Farmingdale and was employed for B.O.C.E.S. at Mooers and Champlain schools. Theresa married Raymond F. Lavoie on June 25, 1960 in St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Champlain and later St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Theresa was a member of the Court Lily of the Mohawks # 1451, Catholic Daughters in Champlain, and the Red Hat Society in Plattsburgh. Theresa will be missed for her quick wit and success as an armchair Jeopardy contestant. Theresa enjoyed reading, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her 10 grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother; she is survived by her sons and daughters in law; Thomas and Cam Lavoie of Yorba Linda, Ca., David and Stacy Lavoie of Latham, N.Y., her daughters and sons in law; Michele Lavoie of Plattsburgh, Nicole and Greg Lombard of Peru, Suzanne and Andrew Carty of Milton, Ma., her grandchildren; Kyle Gorman, Nicholas Lavoie, Victoria Lavoie, Emily Lombard, Tanner Lombard, Liam Carty, Max Lavoie, Alyce Lavoie, Owen Lavoie, her step-grandson; Geoffrey and Shatoya Lombard and their children, Xavier and Naomi, her brothers and sisters in law; Leonard and Joyce Manor of Alburgh, Vermont, Arthur and Norma Menard of Mooers, Fr. Gilbert Menard of Plattsburgh, Roland Menard of Mooers, her sisters and brothers in law; Cecile and Donald McDonald of Massena, Rita and Jerry Miner of Loudenville, N.Y., Kay and Jerry Frederick of West Chazy, Regina and John Stansbury of Carrollton, Tx, Gloria Menard of Peru, Jeanne Menard of Saranac Lake, Sr. Elizabeth Menard of Plattsburgh, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 55 years, Ray, her father and mother in law; Nazaire and Claudia Lavoie, her brother Fr. Clarence Menard, a brother in law, Stanley Lavoie. Calling hours will be private for the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Memorial donations may be offered to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center at the UVM CVPH Medical Center.
