Theresa C. Lemieux, 96, of Plattsburgh passed away from natural causes on Monday, December 6, 2021 at UVM-CVPH with her loving family by her side.
She was born February 8, 1925 in Plattsburgh, the daughter of Oscar and Julia (O’Rourke) Buskey. She graduated from PHS in 1942 and worked for the Office of Price Administration (OPA) for several years.
She married James E. Lemieux in 1944 and raised their family of six children, four daughters and two sons.
She always enjoyed music and sang in the St. Peter’s Church Choir and was a past member of the Sweet Adelines.
She was predeceased by her husband James Lemieux, a son Joseph, her grandson Andrew Fitzgerald and her brother Alvin Buskey.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Mary and John Ernst of Plattsburgh, Diane and Michael Kalitan of Cortland, NY, Marjorie and Joe Ewing of Riverside, CA, Thomas and Melody Lemieux of Peru, NY and Patricia Kuriger of Cumming, GA: seven grandchildren: Dan Fitzgerald (Noelle), Heather Sackett (Brent), Jim Walsh (Tamara), Frank Walsh (Monique), David Lemieux (Amanda), Julia Lemieux, Whitney Rebel (Max); 9 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and two sisters- in-laws, Doris Buskey and Helen Lemieux, both from Plattsburgh.
There will be no public calling hours. A private service will be held for the family. Entombment will follow at the Plattsburgh Community Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CVPH Foundation, Hospice or a charity of your choice in Theresa’s memory. Special thanks go to the R5 staff of CVPH for the special care they showed Mom.
