Upon his retirement in 2002, Tom took to the woods (as we jokingly said) from late April until mid – November yearly. First creating a family camp in Tupper Lake and the last few years building a camp with his son outside of Malone. Tom enjoyed nothing more than looking out over the pond and experiencing the wildlife. The Adirondacks were his cathedral.

He is also survived by his four grandchildren and two great grandchildren: Courtney (Aimee) Harkness, Connor Fresn, Christopher and Kyler Carlo, Stevie and Archer Harkness.
