Thomas P Stewart

Thomas (Tom) Peter Stewart, 71 of Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, August 26, 2022 at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Plattsburgh on July 15, 1951 the son of Orville Stewart and Mary (Carpenter) Stewart.
Tom graduated from Saranac Central School and attended BOCES for Culinary Arts.
He attended St. Peter’s Church.

He discovered at an early age he enjoyed crochet and made numerous Afghans and lap robes. He donated many of these to RSVP and was honored at their yearly celebration. He also donated many as gifts to the Cancer Center at CVPH. He loved to fish, camp out in his brother’s tree house, play cards with friends, work puzzles, and had a great collection of Roosters.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Christopher (Margaret) Stewart of Plattsburgh, James (Kim) Stewart of Plattsburgh, Tim (Cindy) Stewart of Plattsburgh, Catherine (Brion)Forget of Morrisonville, Paul (Lisa) Stewart of Saranac, Pamela Atkinson of Plattsburgh, Mary (Tom) Edwards of Plattsburgh, Christine (Daniel) Froehlich of Phoenix, AZ, Phillip Stiles of Colorado Springs, CO, Dr. Renee Stiles of Nashville, TN, and Scott (Elise) of Plattsburgh. He also left behind 30 nephews and nieces, 48 great nephews and nieces, and 1 great-great nephew.

He was predeceased by his parents, Orville Stewart and Mary (Carpenter) Stewart-Stiles of Morrisonville, stepfather- Edmond J. Stiles of Morrisonville, his sister Jean Stow of Saranac, and friends Inaray Leclair and Pat Dubray.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 9:30 am - 11:00 at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Service to follow at 11:00 am at Brown Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Mount Carmel Cemetery on South Catherine Street, Plattsburgh, NY.
